In the space between chaos and calm exists the opportunity for change.

The Need for a Transition Specialist

It may be difficult to bring permanent change into our lives without (at least occasional) guidance and instruction.During the process of inner transition, the question often arises: "Do I need help, and how do I find what is right for me?"

A transition specialist is someone who can assist you in discovering the exact life you want to be living, and determine what in your life is no longer serving you. This is accomplished by informing, challenging, and setting an example for you; based on personal observations, life learning, and self-discovery experience.
Many people begin a time of transition in response to encountering hardship and loss, and/or after experiencing a sense of dissatisfaction with life. Out of these difficulties comes the need to find greater meaning in life. To see the bigger picture! This in turn leads to a search for what really matters.Eventually one comes to the realization that to avoid being lost in the endless wants, negative emotions, and confusion that arise in the mind, some sort of change is necessary.
So how do you know where to place yourself in regard to this question of finding a transition specialist?

Consider the following:

First, a transition specialist can be a provider of knowledge. Finding your path to a life of joy and satisfaction requires practical knowledge just as much as daily life does, only the knowledge is more subjective and elusive.

A second way that a transition specialist provides assistance is through inspiration, which is different from knowledge although knowledge itself can be inspirational.

The third category of value that a transition specialist provides is what is described as transmission of direct understanding, which does not occur primarily through the intellect, but by spending time in close proximity of another's energy.

Personal growth that leads to permanent change is challenging, and letting go of past perceptions are very difficult.  It can be of great value to work with someone whose life or self expression inspires you. Better still is finding a mentor who believes in you just as you believe in her or him.

10 TIPS FOR TRANSITION

1.  ACCEPT

Make peace with your current situation.  It is easier to move forward once we are firmly grounded in, and understand, where our starting point to transition is.

2.  LOOK EXTERNALLY

Get help from others.  Determine who and what would be beneficial to assist you on your path of transition.

3.  FIX YOUR DIET

It’s not about giving up cake and ice cream.  Taking an objective look at how you are supporting your body will assist you in recognizing how you care for your soul.

4.  LOOK WITHIN

Connect with yourself.  Understanding where you’ve been can assist you in determining where you want to go next.

5.  EXAMINE THE PAST

Look for unresolved issues or behavioral patterns that are no longer serving you well.

6.  GREIVE

Spend time grieving over the past and any hurts you are still hanging onto.  As you move through the grief it will help you to let go and move forward.

7.  GET BACK INTO THE WORLD

Spend time with people and in activities that support your new goals and dreams.

8.  MAKE CHANGES

Introduce new behaviors, think positive, and practice gratitude.

9.  LOOK TO THE FUTURE

Set goals for where you want to be next week/month/year/5 years.   Take small steps towards your goal of living your passion.

10.  KEEP LEARNING

Stay present as you travel the path towards transition and course correct as needed.  As we grow and change what works today may not be what we desire in our lives tomorrow.
